Loose Florals in Watercolour

This workshop is about painting watercolour florals from a place of intuition and ease. It’s less about following strict techniques and more about discovering your own way of expressing through paint.

Many beginners find florals, especially in a loose style, challenging. It’s easy to get caught up in the tiny details of flowers, which can feel overwhelming and lead to messy results. This is why our focus will be simplifying the shapes of flowers and leaves, capturing their essence rather than every intricate detail. This approach keeps your florals expressive, harmonious, and achievable.

We’ll practice a series of exercises designed to build confidence and loosen your approach. We’ll work on loose freestyle flowers, focusing on basic shapes and explore simple foliage patterns.

Rather than aiming for perfection, we’ll focus on the process, letting colours blend naturally, embracing happy accidents, and seeing what unfolds on the page.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some watercolour experience. You’ll leave with a few finished floral pieces and the confidence to continue painting on your own.

All materials are provided, including a complete watercolour kit to use during the session and take home.
