Loose Florals in Watercolour - Foundations

Friday April 17th, 2026 | 10am-12.30pm

There’s a point where tutorials stop helping — and you need real feedback.

This is a small, studio-based workshop designed as a clear and supportive introduction to watercolour florals.

The group is limited to four people, allowing for close guidance, direct feedback, and a much more hands-on experience than larger classes.

We focus on building a strong foundation in the medium.

Watercolour can feel unpredictable at first. Many beginners struggle with control, overworking, or not quite understanding how the paint behaves. This session is about changing that.

You’ll learn how to:

  • control water and understand how pigment moves

  • gain confidence in brush control

  • mix colours and develop your colour palette

  • simplify florals into clear, expressive shapes

We’ll work through a series of focused exercises — loose florals and simple foliage — designed to help you understand what’s actually happening on the page.

This is not about producing polished finished pieces.

It’s about building the skills that make everything else possible.

You’ll be working in my home studio, with ongoing demonstrations and individual guidance throughout.

All materials are provided, including a complete watercolour kit for you to use during the session and take home afterwards.

Date & Time: 17th April, 10am-12.30pm

Location: Home studio, Farnham (GU9) — full address shared after booking
