Pattern Play: Watercolour Techniques for Beginners | Farnham Maltings

Come and play with watercolours!

Get creative without any restrictions in this beginner-friendly workshop as you explore patterns, shapes, colours and textures. You will learn basic watercolour techniques, and also fun new ways to use household supplies, like salt, sponges or cling film.

This workshop is pure creative play, and it's an invitation for you to try out something new and see where it leads you. There is no right or wrong way to do things, we will just be having some fun with paints and brushes. Pure fun and play is something that seems so simple, but somehow we forgot how to do it as we became adults.

Creating just for the process of creation is something that has immense power and yet it's still so underestimated, misunderstood and even judged. For me, it's a way to help me relax and soothe my nervous system, be more mindful and engaged with life and release stuck emotions.

Suitable for any skill level.

All materials are provided, everyone will have their own watercolour set, brushes and watercolour paper to take home.

It really is for complete novices !

A really interesting and fun exploration of a few basic watercolour techniques. We were all so impressed with what we could create having very little/no art experience
