Develop Your Own Way of Painting in Watercolour (1:1)

You sit down to paint, and at some point along the way, you lose it.

You go back in, adjust, fix, try to improve what’s there… and slowly it becomes something you don’t recognise anymore, even though it felt right at the beginning.

This session is designed to work directly with that moment.

This is a 2-hour one-to-one session where we focus on how you actually paint, not just what you paint.

You might come in wanting to learn the basics, loosen up your style, work on florals or landscapes, or develop something more personal. We’ll use that as the starting point, but the session is shaped around what happens between your first mark and the point where you start second-guessing it.

As you paint, I’ll guide you in real time, noticing where you hesitate, adjust, or overwork your piece, and helping you stay with it long enough for something to actually build.

We’ll still cover techniques, materials, and approaches to watercolour, but always in relation to your own process, so you’re not just following steps, you’re understanding how to continue when you’re on your own.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a series of pieces, but more importantly, a clearer sense of how to approach painting without it turning into a reset every time.

• In person at my home studio in Farnham (GU9)
• Online (live via Zoom), where we paint together in real time so I can guide you as you work

All materials are provided for in-person sessions.
For online sessions, you’ll receive a simple list of what you’ll need beforehand.

Who it’s for

Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with more experience who feel like their work isn’t quite coming together.
